Hello everyone! As you may have seen, my phone is broken and off to be repaired, so unfortunately no photos this week. Therefore, I thought I'd share my favourite Youtubers, music and pick 'n' mix sweets!
My absolute all-time favourite Youtuber is Louise Pentland (Spinkle of Glitter). She's relatable, hilarious and someone you wish was your best friend. I religiously watch all her vlogs and stand-alone videos, and have done for many years. If you haven't given her a watch, you need to because her videos range from heart-warming to hilarious, but always stay 100% real. Other fab Youtubers include SacconeJolys, Leadley (check out her music, especially All Of You) and Mrs Meldrum.
Onto music now... These past two weeks I seem to have listened to George Ezra's Staying at Tamara's album non-stop! In particular I love Pretty Shining People and Hold My Girl. His voice is so different to any I've heard before and I love the music too. Other songs/artists I've been loving include: Back to You - Selena Gomez, Say Amen (Saturday Night) - Panic! At The Disco, and Youngblood - 5 Seconds of Summer.
While on holiday, I ended up getting a few bags of pick 'n' mix, so thought I'd share what I always go for! I'd typically include foam bananas, fizzy bubblegum bottles, gummy bears, sour strawberry cable bites, sour apple belts and marshmallows. However, in America they also had loads of chocolate covered things like marshmallows, caramels and smores!
I'd love to know which Youtubers, music and pick 'n' mix are your favourites so don't hesitate to let me know!
I've got a Vegas blog coming up soon to look forward to, so keep an eye out for that :)
Hello everybody! I'm writing this in my jet-lagged state so forgive me if I waffle on or don't make sense! Thought I'd just fill you guys in on what's going on with me and what posts to expect in the coming weeks.
First of all, my phone is broken. I don't want to say a man opened the door of a helicopter and threw my phone out of it, but essentially that's what happened... Or if I were to explain it more, he tried to undo my seatbelt for me (because I look like a child incapable of doing it myself) and as my phone was resting on it, it fell about 5ft to the ground and smashed to pieces. RIP for now. Unfortunately that means no decent photos until it gets fixed, so my Friday favourites this time will be music, tv and miscellaneous.
Tomorrow I'm headed to Hereford to get my keys to my new flat! I'm beyond excited for this and have packed up my car ready to move a bunch of my stuff in. I think I mentioned before that I'm going to have to find furniture, as while I have accumulated many belongings I have nowhere to put them! So, I'll be checking out charity shops to see what I can find there, before heading to Argos, Amazon and wherever else for items I can't get second-hand. I'll be posting photos of before/after of my flat so you can see the transformation over the coming weeks.
Finally, I've been in Las Vegas for the past week so posts will be coming soon about that - again once my phone is fixed so I can recover my photos! It was an amazing holiday and would recommend it to anyone 21+ (simply because loads of places require you to be over this just to look around all the fancy and themed hotels).
Hope you're all doing well and don't have broken phones like me :(
Welcome back to a Shop With Me Saturday! Erm, did I need to buy any of this? Nope! But, did I really want it? Yes! This week's purchases were a mix of in-store and online and all links/prices are at the end, so let's get started!
My trusty old white canvas converse have finally bit the dust so I went into Schuh ready to buy an exact copy...then I saw them in rose gold/white. I had to have them! While they look more gold in the photo and that's all I can find online, they were the rose gold version and are soooo pretty - I'm actually in love.
While in town I also went into Boots to pick up Maybelline's Brow Satin in dark brown which is my usual. However, I may have walked too close to the Benefit stand and before I knew it, had a colour test and was recommended the new foundation - Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation in shade 01. I've never worn foundation before but had seen several people using this and thought why not give something that's light-medium coverage a go! Being the lightest shade kind of surprised me and we'll see how it fares when I'm home from Vegas! A bonus is it feels so light on my skin which was so important being a first-time user.
I adore Models Own and have for a long time. It was the first nail polish brand I used due to their extensive collection and formulas that were easy to apply. I ventured into their eyeshadow range last year and absolutely love those too. When I got an email saying everything on their website was half-price... well, I'd be a fool not to look!
I've only just started wearing makeup, so figured I should try a palette with bronzer, highlight and blusher all in one to make things easier! I got the Sculpt & Glow Contour Palette in shade light-medium and found it to be buildable and not too shimmery! I'm not a big fan of lipsticks, but wear lip balms a lot, so thought I'd try a tinted one. I chose the shade Divine and while not as moisturising as other balms I use, it does give the subtle colour I wanted. I also ordered the 2-in-1 Prime and Set Spray as I figured it may help with my new make-up use. A free surprise in my box of goodies was the Colour Chrome Eyeshadow Kit in Ultramarine. I've yet to use this, but am keen to try it out and will let you know on twitter what I think!
White & Gold Chuck Taylor All Star Craft Ox Trainers £58.00 (can't find the rose gold, sorry!)
Maybelline Brow Satin Eyebrow Pencil Duo £6.99
Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation £25.50
Models Own (all bought at half the price stated)
Sculpt & Glow Contour Palette £14.99
Tinted Lip Balm £10.99
2-in-1 Prime & Set Spray £7.99
Colour Chrome Eyeshadow Kit £7.49 (got for free!)
Hope you enjoyed looking at this week's purchases! Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!
At the start of August my two best friends and I decided to visit a Lush Spa! I've been friends with these girls for twelve years now and we wanted to celebrate two of us getting new jobs and the other moving abroad to start a masters course.
One of my friends had visited a Lush Spa before and recommended The Good Hour treatment, so we all chose to have that one. Unfortunately the nearest Lush Spa to our hometown was booked up, so we had to travel all the way to Liverpool - a trip that took 3 hours due to roadworks and traffic!
Once we were there, we were introduced to our lovely masseuses and filled out forms that included a health questionnaire to make sure our treatment would be suitable for us. We were then shown the various products that would be used during our treatment, with each of us picking our own massage bar. I went for the Hottie, whereas both my friends chose the Therapy bar. They also asked if there were any particular areas we wanted them to pay more attention to - I chose my upper back and neck, whereas both my friends just said everywhere (typical haha).
As a side note, after our long drive we were obviously desperate to use the bathroom and I can't explain how excited we were at how many products were available at the sink for you to use! Not just your standard soap/hand lotion, but all kinds of lip, hair and skin products - what a dream!
Lush Spa has couples massage rooms, so two of us went in one room while the other went in a second. The treatment was a full body deep tissue massage and while you only keep your lower underwear on for this one, you're covered with a soft towel on a heated bed.
I've never had a professional massage before and this exceeded all expectations! There were gentle sea shanties playing in the background, as well as the scents of bath bombs and massage bars, so I came out feeling like I was on cloud nine. We were then given tea (with optional rum), shortbread biscuits and a brand new massage bar to take home with us!
While this massage was pricey (at £110), this did include some freebies and over an hour of treatment! The team were very knowledeable with their products and talented with their hands and I would 100% recommend it. My friends and I are already planning to try a different treatment at Christmas - personally I'm thinking The Comforter and Validation Facial sound amazing!
Have you been to a Lush Spa or would you recommend any others? Let me know!
Welcome to my first official Friday Favourites! This is going to be a fortnightly post showing what my current favourites are (obviously)... It could be anything from food, beauty, clothes, activities, music, films, tv, places... the list goes on! So without further adieu, here it is!
I finished university at the end of June and don't start my job until September, so I've had a lot of time on my hands recently! Being at home also meant I had access to my Dad's PS4 so I've fallen back in love with my Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. If you've never played as Crash before, you're missing out! It's a platform game where the objective is to smash boxes and collect apples (100 apples = 1 life) while you complete the level. This is genuinely such an addictive game that brings back so many childhood memories as it is the remastered versions of the first 3 they brought out. It costs £23.23 on Amazon at the moment here.
I've been using sheet masks for a while but a couple of weeks ago, I decided to treat myself to both the Cupcake and Rosy Cheeks fresh face masks from Lush. While Rosy Cheeks doesn't seem to do much for me and kinda irritates my skin, the Cupcake one works wonders! I read online it's good for more oily skin and breakouts so thought I'd give it a go. It's left my skin feeling much less oily and also really soft. It's the best smell too - chocolate cupcakes! It costs £7.50 and you can read more about it here.
Finally Barry M nail polish needs a mention! Soon I'll be in a healthcare role where it's not really appropriate to wear nail polish (due to extensive hand hygiene) so I've been making the most of my summer. I'd previously used other brands that chipped fairly easily and I'm so impressed with how good Barry M polish is in comparison!
I've got four shades:
Rain On Me - Liquid Chrome Collection
Pinktail - Under The Sea collection
Rocket - Molten Metal Nail Holographic collection
Bashful - Mani Mask with Bamboo
I initially got Rain On Me to wear for graduation and was so impressed with the formula that I went online to buy more! My intention was to get just one (Pinktail) but it was two for £7 so I went for the simple Mani Mask to condition my nails. Imagine my suprise when at the checkout, another offer meant I got a third for free (Rocket)! All four have been easy to apply and dry quickly. Pinktail requires multiple applications as it's quite sheer but the others only one or two. I'd definitely recommend this nail polish brand over any other at this price level!
That's all for my favourites this week! What are you loving?
